THE OMAYRA SERIES
The 10 canvases presented here represent the central body of works in The Omayra Series. These large and imposing paintings measure over 6 feet in height and almost 6 feet in width. White Omayra and Black Omayra 1 are each comprised of 82 individually stretched linen canvases on which a portion of the surface is silkscreened. The remaining area of the canvases is painted with oil and magma gel to mimic the continuation of the half-tone screenprint. Each of the eight subsequent canvases are painted on a single sheet of linen stretched over a custom frame. The paintings were completed before a final application of a half-tone silkscreen over the entire surface of the canvas.
